1/8" rice
Small particles with lots of surface area. Ideal as dry ice blasting media and where fast, even cooling is needed.
5/8" pellets
The most versatile size. Easy to pour around products in a shipper or cooler, and a good balance between cooling speed and duration.
Blocks
Large solid pieces sublimate slowly because of their small surface area relative to weight. PA Dry Ice's 5 lb block measures 5" × 10" × 2" — useful where slower, longer-lasting cooling is preferred.
Dry ice releases carbon dioxide gas and requires proper ventilation. Handle only with insulated gloves, and never seal it in an airtight container.
