Dry Ice for Camping

Dry ice can keep a camping cooler frozen for multiple days. Keep the cooler outside the tent, in shade, and never inside a closed tent, camper or vehicle overnight.

Planning

Estimate pounds per day with the calculator and bring a buffer.

Safety at camp

Keep children and pets away from the cooler, and ventilate any enclosed space the cooler has been in.

Dry ice releases carbon dioxide gas and requires proper ventilation. Handle only with insulated gloves, and never seal it in an airtight container.
