Use an insulated cooler, keep it in a ventilated space, keep the lid closed as much as possible, and label it so others know it contains dry ice.
Don't
Don't use an airtight or sealed container (pressure can build), don't store it in a small closed room, basement without airflow, or vehicle cabin, and don't handle it bare-handed.
Ventilation
Dry ice turns into carbon dioxide gas. Always use it in a well-ventilated area and never in a sealed room, walk-in space or closed vehicle cabin.
Dry ice releases carbon dioxide gas and requires proper ventilation. Handle only with insulated gloves, and never seal it in an airtight container.
