Dry ice blasting is a cleaning method that fires small dry ice particles at a surface with compressed air. The particles sublimate on impact, leaving no blast media residue.
The impact and extreme cold loosen contaminants, and the sublimating CO₂ helps lift them away.
No secondary media to clean up, often non-abrasive, and some equipment can be cleaned in place.
Dry ice releases carbon dioxide gas and requires proper ventilation. Handle only with insulated gloves, and never seal it in an airtight container.
