Dry Ice for Frozen Food Shipping

Frozen food is typically shipped in a foam shipper inside a cardboard box with dry ice on top, sized to the transit time plus a buffer. The package must vent CO₂ and be labeled as required by the carrier.

Sizing

Use the shipping planner to estimate a range based on box size and transit days.

Packaging

Pre-freeze products solid, fill voids, and don't tape the foam lid airtight.

Compliance

Requirements may vary by carrier, shipment and mode of transportation. Confirm labeling and weight declarations with your carrier.

Dry ice releases carbon dioxide gas and requires proper ventilation. Handle only with insulated gloves, and never seal it in an airtight container.
